So, first of all I managed to get my hands on this from Guitar Center. After reading many rave reviews and based on the quality of the Native Instruments brand alone, I was already convinced.
First of all, this is hardware (pictured above) and software at the same time. The hardware comes equipped with 5 gigs of studio equipped sounds which range from one-shots, drums, synths, basses, snares, hi-hats, kicks, and other sounds. As well, each of the sounds can be assigned to each of the 16 squares on the pad. There are over 15,000 sounds to choose from which were developed and compiled by many notable producers in the electronic music scene, which has already been one of the main reasons why Native Instruments is known so well in the electronic music development industry.
The ability to record and assemble drum patterns and whole songs with the hardware and software is one of the many reasons why I was so drawn to this. If neccessary ,the hardware and the software can be both used with other programs as a standalone application.
All I will say though is that this is hot!
